Cambridge International AS & A Level Biblical Studies (9484) develops a specialist study of the Bible and its historical and philosophical context. The course encourages an enquiring and reflective approach to the study of Christian teachings, developing the ability to analyse scripture and engage with scholarly debate.
Students develop a deep understanding of Christian thought and practice as recorded in the Bible, exploring the Gospels, the early Church, Old Testament prophecy and key Christian understandings of God, life and the universe. All Bible passages in the examination are drawn from the New Revised Standard Version, Anglicised (NRSVA).
Cambridge International A Level Biblical Studies provides an excellent foundation for further study in theology, religious studies, philosophy and related humanities disciplines. The syllabus is available in the November series only and is not available in all administrative zones.
