Cambridge International AS & A Level Biology (9700) develops a deep understanding of the living world, combining rigorous biological knowledge with the practical skills of a working scientist. Students explore core concepts from cellular structure to genetic technology, applying the scientific method and developing skills in data analysis, evaluation and communication.
The course emphasises the importance of practical investigation throughout, with at least 20% of study time dedicated to hands-on experimental work. Learners develop the ability to plan experiments, collect and record data, analyse results and evaluate methodology — skills that are highly valued in science, medicine and related professions.
Cambridge International A Level Biology is widely recognised as excellent preparation for university courses in biological sciences, medicine, pharmacy, environmental science and other life science disciplines.
