Cambridge International AS & A Level Global Perspectives & Research (9239) is a unique, skills-based qualification that develops critical thinking, research skills and the ability to engage with complex global issues from multiple perspectives. Students do not study a fixed body of subject content; instead, they choose global topics that interest them and develop rigorous analytical and communication skills through a structured approach called the Critical Path.

The course requires students to analyse and evaluate arguments, conduct independent research, collaborate in teams and communicate their findings effectively in both written and spoken forms. At A Level, students undertake an extended independent research project — the Cambridge Research Report — on a topic of their own choosing.

Cambridge International A Level Global Perspectives & Research develops transferable skills that are highly valued by universities across all disciplines, including the ability to think critically, reason from evidence, and communicate clearly on matters of global significance.
