Cambridge International AS & A Level Law (9084) introduces students to the study of the law of England and Wales. The course develops an understanding of legal concepts, principles, rules and the machinery involved in creating and enforcing law, while also developing skills in legal analysis, argument construction and evaluative writing.

Students study the English legal system including sources of law, courts, legal personnel and police powers and progress through criminal law, contract law and the law of tort. The course develops the ability to identify relevant law, apply it to factual scenarios, and evaluate legal rules and their effectiveness in achieving justice.

Cambridge International A Level Law provides an excellent foundation for further study in law and related disciplines such as criminology, politics, philosophy and sociology. The transferable skills developed logical reasoning, argumentation and written communication are valued across many professions.
