Cambridge International AS & A Level Sociology (9699) develops an understanding of the social forces that shape human behaviour and society. Students explore key sociological theories and concepts, examine social institutions such as the family, education, religion and crime, and develop the ability to evaluate sociological research evidence critically.
The course encourages students to question assumptions about the social world and to understand how factors such as class, gender, ethnicity and culture influence individuals and society. Students learn to analyse quantitative and qualitative research data and to construct well-supported sociological arguments.
